Hello!
My name is Mariesa de la Rosa. I am an artist living along Canada's West Coast in the beautiful city of Victoria.
Although I spend most of the day in the warehouse, I really enjoy to draw and make stories of characters on my free time. I especially love stories where characters go through an emotional journey and exploring how they grow. Sometimes to better understand a character, I will try out a hobby of their's like doll making or dessert recipe for research.
As for my art background, I graduated from the Visual Arts Diploma Program in 2008. In 2012, from the same college, I completed the Comics & Graphic Novel Program.
Since then I have been working in retail while saving my creative energies on the side. For awhile, I was also teaching piano for beginners and occasionally art classes in a small studio. But after a work injury that left me unable to draw for a year followed by pandemic soon after, it definitely gave me time to reflect and put what I really enjoyed and what is important to me in perspective while making ends meet.
The dream is to one day to one day work on an animated feature and see my name in the credit roll. But until then, I will continue to work my way there.
